Walking & Trekking

Thirty minutes south of Lisbon is the Arrábida Natural Park, encompassing the small range of limestone mountains, which stretch east-west along the coast between Sesimbra and Setúbal. It was established to protect this wild and beautiful landscape and its rich variety of birds and wildlife. There are many walks and trails in the area, one of the best is the Alto da Madelana, a circular walk starting from the historical village of Villa Nogueira de Azeitão. The walk takes you through the Alto da Madelana to the woodlands along the margins of the Sierra da Arrabida before coming back through hamlets and across heath land.  You can even Visit the Fonseca winery!
