The Lisboa region is divided by the river Tejo and situated between the Centro and Alentejo regions. Portugal's capital, Lisbon, is built on seven hills and lies on the banks of the Tejo river. Perched on the westernmost point of Europe, Cabo da Roca and the surrounding regions feature stretches of remote, white beaches with big waves for surfers. Inland, the region to the north of the Tejo contains a small range of mountains, while the area to the south has flat green plains fed by the Tejo.
